No respect for Jets in prime time

Jets get only one game in prime time, but they will stay home for an opener for only the third time in 13 years when they face the Pats on Sept. 9. There will be no easing into Eric Mangini's second year as head coach, as the Jets face four 2006 playoff teams in the first six weeks of the season. One of those opponents is the Giants, as the Jets on Oct. 7 play a "road" game at Giants Stadium. The Giants have won their last three regular-season games against the Jets. The two teams haven't faced each other in the regular season since 2003. (NY Post)

Jets will play in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day

The Jets will enjoy some Texas turkey this year, traveling to Dallas to face the Cowboys in a traditional Thanksgiving Day game. While the rest of the schedule has not yet been unveiled, some of the premier television games were announced at the owners' meetings in Phoenix on Monday. It will be the first time the Jets play on Thanksgiving Day since 1985, when they lost to the Lions. The franchise has played on Thansgiving Day five times, three as the Titans and twice as the Jets.

The Jets, who are 2-6 in the all-time series against Dallas, have not faced the Cowboys since 2003 and have not played in Dallas since 1999. The Jets are playing the NFC East as part of the rotating schedule in 2007. (Newsday)
