Mike Francesa throws flag on Revis

Mike Francesa introduced his interview with Darrelle Revis on WFAN on Friday by saying the cornerback is "the only Jet who talks to me, the only one who likes me, still."

That wouldn't last long. The discussion ended with a Jets public relations official coming on the line as Revis got increasingly agitated and instructing him to hang up, which he did.

The disagreement centered on whether Revis did or did not interfere with Dolphins receiver Brandon Marshall on Monday night before intercepting a pass and returning it 100 yards for a touchdown.

As the two went back and forth, Francesa insisted a penalty should have been called, smiling and laughing occasionally. Later, he said he was being playful and "kidding around with him."

Revis insisted he had done nothing that should have been penalized and that Marshall had tripped into him. He dismissed Francesa's assertion that he knows football well enough to judge. He also did not seem to be playful or kidding. (continue)

Revis responds to Jags WR Hill

After Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiverJason Hill said playing in New York market over-inflates the hype surrounding sports stars in the area,Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was a little confused.

For starters, he did not know who Hill was.

"I don't even know who that dude is. What's his name again? I have no clue. I don't know who he is, whatever he said is what he said. Whatever his opinion is of us, we'll find out on Sunday," Revis said. "I don't care what he says, I don't know him. He don't know me, he don't know the Jets, so he'll find out on Sunday."

But Hill, who has 55 career catches in five years, has a lingering hip injury that has kept him out of practice for most of this week. He is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game. (continue)

Revis ranked 8th best by peers

During a recent broadcast on the NFL Network, NFL players made an extensive list of the 100 best active players in the game today. The list, which included players from every position on the field, coined New York Jets' cornerback Darrelle Revis the eight best player in the NFL right now.

Rex Ryan who presented Revis on the show, admitted to CBS New York that "he (Revis) allows us (the Jets) to get away with way more stuff than any other team can get away with."

Revis, who Rex Ryan claimed on record that he would become "the best Jet in history of the franchise," has become the team's defensive leader, and one of the of most famous faces around the league.

Plagued by injuries last season, Revis did not record the numbers as he did two years ago. (continue)
